BOY RESCUED FROM BURNING BUILDING

UPDATE:

The seven year old boy died of his injuries which were described as significant burns and smoke inhalation. He was in cardiac arrest when removed from the building but was resuscitated on scene and taken to BC Children's Hospital via hovercraft.


The local Daily reports at 3:17 am Saturday RCMP driving by the engulfed building attempted to enter when told someone was inside. They were unable to enter the home as it was fully engulfed.

Two firefighters were able to enter the building and locate and rescue the young boy, who was stabilized on scene and taken to NRGH for further treatment.

The apartment in the 300 block of Albert Street was home to two adults and six children all of who has escaped the building.
