Nanaimo Advance Poll Up 36%

2262 VOTERS CAST BALLOT IN ADVANCE POLLS

In 2011 1,663 Nanaimo voters cast their ballots in the advance polls. This year after the two advance polls a total of 2,262 Nanaimo voters have cast their ballots in the 2014 election. This represents a substantial 36% increase in turnout at the advance polls.

Whether this is a sign we may actually be seeing more voter participation during this election than the 27% turnout in 2011 will be known by 8:00 pm on November 15 which is general election day in Nanaimo.

Polls for the general election will be open from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm on Saturday Nov. 15, 2014. Be sure to do your civic duty by casting your informed vote for the candidate(s) of your choice. Remember you do not have to vote for more candidates than you can make an informed choice on. If there is only one school trustee you feel would make a good trustee, you don't need to vote for any more than one. The same applies to your choice of city councilor, only vote for the ones you know and believe would make a good candidate.
