SANTA ARRIVES DOWNTOWN
SANTA CLAUS PARADE SAT. NOV. 29 - 5:00 PM
Family activities begin November 29th when Santa returns to downtown Nanaimo via Harbour Air Seaplane. Be sure to be on hand at 1:30pm at the waterfront as Patti and the team from 91.7 Coast FM warm up the crowd and get everyone ready to welcome Santa and his Elves back to the harbour city. From there, children can escort Santa to the grand opening of his workshop at 101 Gordon Street in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. Santa’s Workshop will be a beehive of activity between 2:30pm and 4:30pm and families can enjoy free hot chocolate, cookies and live entertainment with Andrew Crosby. Don’t forget to pick up your antlers to wear to the parade.
Head down to Diana Krall Plaza at 4:30pm before the parade begins for the lighting of the 24 foot Christmas Tree. There will be plenty of activity happening in and around Commercial Street as service clubs and businesses get in to the festive spirit and hand out treats to parade goers.
The annual Lion’s Club Santa Claus Parade will begin at 5pm. Enjoy brightly lit floats, marching bands and of course Santa Claus.
