Saveon Foods To Close Terminal Park Feb. 5

Brook's Landing Store Expanded Includes Pharmacy

Approximately a year after announcing the purchase of the Brook's Landing Store from Thrifty's Food, Overwaitea Food Group has announced the closing of the Terminal Park location.

There are sixty-eight employees at the Terminal Park location who now will be considering their options after the store closure. Some employees may be able to find work with the company at one of their other locations.

The Overwaitea Food Group owns the building at Terminal Park and it would seem logical they would include a covenant that the store could not house another grocery store.

You have to wonder if area consumers were not better served when the Brook's Landing location housed Thrifty's Food and Terminal Park was the home of Saveon.

  1. Everybody and their dog thought we were better served when the Brook's Landing location housed Thrifty's Food and Terminal Park was the home of Save-On. For some reason Save-On execs and the competition bureau couldn't figure this out. Nobody I know could understand why Thrifty's let go of a virtually brand new store.

  2. Whom ever did the study to determine that the terminal store should close, should be fired!! What a mistake. The south end is developing more each day and that store was serving a huge new market. What a shame. I guess Jim P. has enough money....
