Nanaimo Golf Club Locks Out Employees

Food and Beverage Employees Locked Out

As of 4:00 pm April 24, Club management locked out members of the UniteHere! Local 40 union. According to a union handout there have been nine bargaining sessions with the company which have resulted in little to no progress at the bargaining table.

During the recent construction of the new clubhouse employees had been laid off and this is the first contract negotiation since the clubhouse reopened. Affected by the lock out are two dozen employees including Clubhouse servers, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, janitors and the Chef, all members of the union.

  1. This probably has something to do with the 72 hour strike notice issued by the union on Tues of this week !
