Resident exempt zones established to ease congestion

The City of Nanaimo has installed new signage to restrict long-term parking in and around the Nob Hill area. The new resident parking zones will allow residents to have more access to on street parking, while maintaining a parking supply for other users. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to new parking restrictions in the Nob Hill area.

The new restrictions apply Mon. - Fri. 9;00 am - 5:00 pm with a 2 hr. maximum parking time in effect. The restriction does not apply to residents who have registered their vehicles at the Parking Services office on Victoria Crescent.

By modifying the established resident exempt parking restrictions, the City is providing parking for both residents and non residents of the area.

"The installation of parking restrictions in the Nob Hill area is a step forward in parking management for residential areas adjacent to the downtown." - Rod Davidson Manager Parking Services City of Nanaimo
