2 km E&N Trail - $5 - $10.8 Million

City staff and a consultant presented the results of their findings to date on the options available to add another 2km to the E&N trail which would begin at Franklyn St. and end at Seventh Street.

Depending on different routing options available it is estimated the 2km of trail would cost between $5 million and $10.8 million that would provide another 'piece' of a trail that is described as an important connection. One of the factors driving the cost is the interplay between the trail, an active rail line and intersecting roadways.

At the Council meeting, Councillor Hong commented that he was confused as the 2km section did not connect at either end to the E&N Trail. Councillor Bestwick asked for a specific number rather than the reference to 'significant' traffic on a certain leg of the trail already being used.

There will be upcoming Open Houses for public engagement at a time and place to be determined. You can find more information about this project on the city website HERE.

  1. I'm sure the poor, those who cannot afford their taxes to go up and the many who scrape by to just to eat would rather see the $5 to $10 million going to other things - LIKE JUST LIVING!

What another pile of wasted crap from some people talking nice to city councils which usually are too eager to spend other people's money! Give it a rest.
