This front page article in the Sept. 3 Nanaimo Daily News brought a smile to my face. The headline says that RCMP presence required during city council meeting.
The headline is not what brought the smile but rather the accompanying photo taken by Aaron Hinks which captured one of Her Majesty's finest surrounded by regular council watchdogs, Mr. Ron Bolin, Mr. Fred Taylor and Mr. Jim Goldsack.
I have watched council proceedings these past 6 - 7 years and can testify that in all that time the conduct of any of these three fine gentlemen has never warranted the presence of a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to keep them in line.
That's not what I hear! :) :) :)
