Since 2010, the City of Nanaimo has been involved in a dynamic and evolving public art program that enhances and animates our City’s parks.  Each year, outdoor artwork is installed in public places on a temporary basis for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. The parks essentially become outdoor art galleries and showcase artworks for a limited period of time.

All artists are invited to submit their proposals through the "CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR TEMPORARY OUTDOOR ART NO. 1677", available on the City's website. The call is open to all artists who live in Canada. Participants do not have to be a professional artist to submit a proposal.
