Nanaimo City Manager Departing Nov. 13/15

Ted Swabey going to Maple Ridge

Nanaimo's City Manager, Ted Swabey, has announced to Council his decision to depart City Hall having accepted a new position as the Chief Adminstration Officer for the City of Maple Ridge. Mr. Swabey's last day as head of Nanaimo's city administration is set for November 13. A meeting of Council will be convened in the coming days to begin the process of filling the City Manager position.
Mr. Swabey began working for the City in 1989. Over his 26 year career he has held several portfolios including planning, development, economic development, protective services and community safety. 

He was appointed to the position of City Manager in 2013.

    Coincidence?
    Could this be a turf war between Council and staff to see who runs this city?
