Nanaimo Residents Warned Of Wet Weather Hazards


Heavy rain weather system expected in Nanaimo
Take care on trails and around waterways


"We want to encourage all users of our parks and trails to use caution and to be aware of the conditions that come as a result of weather systems we can see at this time of year."  -  Al Britton City of Nanaimo 

With a heavy rains expected over the next few days, the City of Nanaimo would like to remind the public to be careful and use caution when using trails, boardwalks, stairs and bridges. Many of the trails and even playground equipment are wet and slippery this time of year. Residents are also urged to use caution around waterways. Heavy precipitation can lead to high and fast flowing streams and rivers.

  1. Is this another scare tactic? If the parks are in such dire need, why for heaven's sake is the city trying to spend millions on changing our most successful park - Maffeo-Sutton park?
