Eurasian Collared-Dove In Nanaimo

I was able to catch these two Collared-doves a few weeks ago (in fact there were three of them) stopping in for a snack, but they are quite camera shy and when they spotted me, off they went.

These guys came from subtropical Asia and were introduced to North America in 1980. They don't migrate and are quite effective at colonizing. In my neighbourhood their cooing is a regular sound all through the summer, early in the morning and early evening being their most regular times.
