Malaspina Choir Commemorates Armistice Day

Malaspina Choir presents: In Remembrance

2:30 Sunday, November 15th
at St. Andrew's United Church,
(311 Fitzwilliam Street)

In commemoration of Armistice Day and the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII, this Malaspina Choir's concert is dedicated to our war veterans with music reflecting the themes of war and peace.

The concert's iconic and self-evident title is also the title of one movement from the work by contemporary Canadian composer Eleanor Daley's Requiem which is the featured work on the program. Its texts come from the traditional Roman Catholic requiem mass, biblical psalms and contemporary poetry. The composition blends liturgical-type chant with a modern musical style fused into reflective, expressive and very beautiful music.
