Nanaimo Port Authority - Foot Ferry RFP

Nanaimo Port Authority seeks foot ferry proposals

An article in BC Shipping News reports the NPA Board of Directors has directed management to develop a Request for Proposal for a foot passenger ferry service between Nanaimo and Vancouver.

They intend to issue the RFP in January of 2016 and will be inviting all interested parties, including those currently working with the City of Nanaimo to respond to the RFP.

  2. So an RFP will accomplish what????

If someone does not have their own money (like the current fast ferry proponents) and just want taxpayer handouts this pie-in-the-sky boondoggle by the port authority and city is a scam.

  3. Or we could wait forever while the current group waits for 'that final investor' or more millions courtesy of the taxpayer.

  4. Mr. Ruttan wanted to be mayor until the fast ferry boat was running. That could have been another 10 terms!
