New Nanaimo Interim CAO Chosen By City Council

Candidate Still To Accept Offer

Mayor McKay announced at the Nov. 16th council meeting that an interim candidate for the position of CAO has been chosen, however the candidate has not as yet accepted the offer.

McKay said that if the candidate accepts the offer, Council will report to the public after acceptance using the in-camera process.

This will be the fourth person to take the helm at city hall in recent years which had been occupied by Jerry Berry, Al Kenning and Ted Swabey. None of whom were chosen as the result of a competitive posting for the position.

The interim position is for 6 months which will give the city ample time to search for a premium candidate for this most important position.
