Nanaimo RCMP Serve Warrants On Pot Shops

Three Shops Issued Warrants

The CBC is reporting that three Nanaimo marijuana shops have been served warrants by the RCMP who cited complaints of selling to minors and soliciting sales on the sidewalk.

Supt. Fisher says they were compelled to take action when complaints came from the community, he also said that no further statements would be issued.

Ten pot shops were issued cease and desist orders about two weeks ago. Since then two shops have closed voluntarily and the remaining seven are continuing to operate. It was not clear what the outcome will be as a result of the warrants, as the issue will now be before the courts.
