Paris Jeweller's Thief Gets Jail Sentence

30 year old Craig Edward TRUCKLE, apprehended by civilians following an attempted theft at Paris Jewellers on Monday December 7th, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 4 months jail. He appeared in Nanaimo Provincial court on Tuesday December 8th.

TRUCKLE was apprehended by several civilians attempting to flee through the Woodgrove Centre following the botched theft attempt.

"When the actions of civilians go above and beyond and are instrumental in assisting our members in carrying out their duties, those actions are reviewed locally for official recognition. We believe these individuals not only met but exceeded the established criteria for acknowledgement ", said Constable Gary O'Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.
