Spring Arrives Early This Year

Photo: Sher Falls
Earliest Spring Arrival Since 1896

Spring will officially arrive on March 19/16 at 9:30 PM PDT.  Astronomically speaking, the equinox (March 19 or 20 this year) marks spring’s beginning in the Northern Hemisphere (whereas it announces fall’s arrival in the Southern Hemisphere). The equinox happens at the same moment worldwide, even if our clock times reflect a different time zone.

You can watch a live webcast of Equniox 2016 on the Old Farmer's Almanac webpage and learn some other fun facts about spring.
