Single detached housing starts in Nanaimo decreased in March from 30 in 2015 to 29 in 2016 while multi-family units increased from 19 in 2015 to 34 in 2016 resulting in a combined total of 63 units in 2016 as opposed to 49 units in 2015.
Year-to-date totals show an increase of 10 single family units from 94 in 2015 to 104 in 2016. Multi-family dwellings increased from 68 units in 2015 to 89 units in 2016. Combined totals for 2015 were 162 compared with 193 for 2016.
