Water parks in City to open this weekend

The City of Nanaimo Parks, Recreation and Environment is pleased to announce the seasonal opening of the water parks located in Deverill Square Park, Departure Bay Park, Harewood Centennial Park and Mansfield Park on Saturday, May 14.

Every spring, City staff work to prepare the water parks for opening by testing the pipes, cleaning the features and making sure everything is in working order.

City crews prepare the water parks for opening by testing the pipes and valves, adding the water features that were stored over winter, power washing, touching up the surfaces with paint where needed and making sure all features and the computer system that controls the water are in working order.
