Banners Brighten Up Departure Bay Walkway



If you still have not seen the improvements at Departure Bay beach this would be a great weekend to stop by and while you are there take in the colorful banners lining the new walkway. They are all the product of this year's Festival of Banners sponsored by Nanaimo Arts Council.

    The Nanaimo Art Gallery gets money to do the banners from the city (taxpayers). Then those wanting to paint banners pays the art gallery. So where are banners for throughout downtown - specifically Victoria Crescent!
    It always gets the short-end of the stick. :(

    Update - This year the banner program is in the midst of being passed on to the Nanaimo Arts Council.
