Help identifying male suspect
The
Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male who
exposed himself to a female jogger. The incident occurred on Monday May
30 2016, between 12 noon and 12:30 pm at the Participark trail
located at Beban Park.
Prior
to exposing himself, the suspect male made two attempts to speak with the adult
female as she jogged past him. On one occasion, as the female made her way
along the trail, the male was seen at the pull-up bar
station.
The
male suspect is described as First Nations, 40 -50 years of age with a medium
build. He was wearing dark, possibly brown clothing, with a baseball cap and
sunglasses.
Indecent
acts occur from time to time in our community and often during the summer months
along popular hiking or jogging trails. The trails located in the City of
Nanaimo are used by thousands of outdoor enthusiasts every year and isolated
acts such as these, should not deter you from using them. If you do witness an
indecent act, do not engage in conversation with the person, remove yourself
from the situation immediately then call 911, providing as much detail as
possible about the incident, said Constable Gary O'Brien of the Nanaimo
RCMP.
