Record setting summer temperatures
Climbing mercury sent Nanaimo residents to Departure Bay beach where the low, low tide required a short trek across the barrens to get to the waters edge.
Record temperatures were set in Nanaimo and several other Island locations and is expected to continue for Monday at least.
