Cassidy Inn Fire Deemed 'Suspicious'

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a late night fire on Monday, July 4th that destroyed the Cassidy Inn, located at 2954 Trans-Canada Highway. 

When officers arrived at 11:30 pm, the structure was fully engulfed and was being battled by numerous fire crews from North Cedar, North Oyster, Ladysmith, Extension and Cranberry. The three story structure was reduced to rubble with only the foundation left intact.

At this time the fire is considered suspicious and investigators are attempting to determine the cause of the blaze.
