Vehicle hits male on sidewalk

An adult male has been taken to hospital with critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle that left the road way and drove onto the sidewalk. The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 pm on Monday July 11th at a bus stop, near the marked pedestrian crosswalk across from Beban Park.

Witnesses have told police the male victim may have been standing or walking by the bus stop when for unknown reasons, the southbound suspect vehicle drove on to the sidewalk and struck the male. The vehicle then continued southbound without stopping. Witnesses were unable to provide any information on who was driving or the plate on the vehicle. The vehicle is believed to be a dark grey import and may have damage to the front right corner.
