Dale Schulz - NANAIMO - "As he sees it" - Jly 28/16

Lifelong Nanaimo resident, professional artist and illustrator Dale Schulz 'sees' much of Nanaimo many of us simply walk by without giving a second thought.

Through the eyes of an artist the everyday can become almost magical and with a few simple photos of his daily walks, Dale captures and shares some of that magic on his Facebook page.

The following is the most recent example of what Dale sees when he walks about our lovely seaside community many of us just take for granted.

Dale's Post - July 28/16
Today Indy and I walked downtown but didn't linger - it was TOO hot out there!

I did capture a handful of images though.

First a detail of neat old gnarled tree-trunk on Park Avenue and some cool red 'pod' flowers on Halliburton Street - they are quite beautiful and have a papery texture.

In the Harbour we chatted with well-known Nanaimo musician Paul Gogo - who survived a Bathtub Weekend concert in his Home Town with his band Trooper this last weekend. Here he is carrying a bag of groceries bound for some persons in need. Way to go, Gogo!

I took a picture of the BC Flag in the breeze because our Provincial Holiday is coming up this weekend!

Last - but not least - one of my best buddies 'Doggy'. He is the constant companion of Tim Lander. Tim is a poet and I'm currently designing the covers for his new book of poetry - Doggy might be featured on the front cover!
