Get ArtSea In The Nanaimo Marine Festival

Sail past parade

Nanaimo Arts Council invites you and your organization to get artsy (ArtSea!) with us in the Nanaimo Marine Festival Sail Past (formerly known as the Bathtub Days Parade).

Inspired by New York City’s annual art parade and solstice celebration - the Coney Island Mermaid Parade - we want ArtSea to be a big boisterous sea of colour and creativity. Why wait for Halloween to dress up and have fun? Come as your favourite sea creature (real or mythical) and let’s make a splash together!

All ages welcome. Please RSVP to admin@nanaimoartscouncil.ca to help us estimate the size of our parade entry. Invite your friends, let's make this BIG!

We'll meet at the parade marshalling area on Selby St. between Franklyn and Albert. Please arrive by 10am, the parade starts at 10:30am.

ArtSea participants are responsible for creating their own costumes. If you need some fin-spiration, we’re building a Pinterest board you can browse through. We will also be hosting a costuming workshop for those who want to get together to share ideas, motivate each other and work on costumes together - details coming soon.
