The DSS blindly accepted the previous engineer reports that have since been shown to be grossly exaggerated and based on incorrect assumptions. Why would they have so readily accepted a report that said up to 150 folks could be killed by these dams due to a failure in a minor earthquake? One would think that being in the "business" these experts would know that this conclusion sounded a bit far fetched for two small recreational ponds in Nanaimo. So what is the real motivation now behind the DSS issuing orders to the CoN to push them into carrying out very expensive remediation? Is it so they can be exonerated from looking like idiots who did not do their job with proper diligence and common sense in the first place? This whole mess is piled high and reeks. We need an investigation into the entire dam issue!

Why is it that only laypeople who had some knowledge of the park and dams and a bit of common sense objected to these reports? Where the hell were the real experts? Why did most of our councillors accept this bullcrap and even vote to take the dams out in the first place? Is it because they were intimidated and perhaps even threatened with personal liability claims by our management staff supported by a lawyer? Why do I get this deja vu feeling every time this dams crap comes up for council debate now?

Why is our mayor not leading the call for an investigation?
Cliff MarcilAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
