Attempted robbery of pharmacy
The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a
male who, on Sunday April 3 at approximately
1:30 pm, attempted to rob the Outreach Pharmacy, located at 55 Victoria Road.
At approximately 1:30 pm, police responded to a panic alarm at the
pharmacy. Upon arrival, officers were advised the suspect had fled on foot and
was last seen running down Selby St. A Police Services Dog was called but was
unable to establish a track.
A witness told investigators, the male had entered the pharmacy, jumped
the counter and after stating he had a knife (none produced), demanded drugs and
cash. When told the police were attending, the suspect ran out the front door,
empty handed. The male was captured on video surveillance and is described as
follows:
- 25-30 years of age, 170 pounds
- long dark hair, black goatee
- light blue coat with a hoodie
- black jeans, dark baseball cap
