The Nanaimo RCMP is proud to host an Open house of the Nanaimo RCMP Detachment, set for Saturday May 14 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Front and centre will be the recently acquired Tactical Armoured Vehicle (TAV) used by the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Team. Additionally, officers with the Tactical Response Team, Marine Section, Forensic Identification Unit and RCMP Dive Team will be on hand to answer any and all of your questions. Additionally, there will be police cars, the DARE vehicle and an RCMP motorcycle on display. Guided tours will be offered of the recently renovated Detachment cell block and a BBQ sponsored by Save On Foods, will run throughout the day. All proceeds from the BBQ will go to support the Nanaimo RCMP Victim Services. There will also be many interactive games to keep the little ones occupied.

"We are very proud of our detachment and the members that serve throughout Nanaimo. We are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase our resources and to meet and greet as many of you as possible", said Superintendent Mark Fisher, Officer in Charge of the Nanaimo RCMP Detachment.
