WESTERN EDGE THEATRE
SCHEDULES GENERAL AUDITIONS

Nanaimo's Western Edge Theatre has announced general auditions for its 2008-09 season. The company, which employs both Equity and non-Equity actors, will hold auditions on Saturday, August 2nd from 1 to 5 pm and Tuesday, August 5th from 6 to 10 pm at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo. Interested performers should contact the company at admin@westernedge.org or 250-668-0991 for an appointment and location details.

Actors are asked to present a contemporary monologue; actor-singers are asked to present both a monologue and a song. Live accompaniment will not be provided, but a tape/CD player will be available for those who wish to bring their own music. Auditions are not necessary for actors who have worked with Western Edge in the last two years.

The new small-scale performance space in Nanaimo has made it possible for Western Edge Theatre to resume producing a full season of four plays plus special events. "We're delighted to be back," says Artistic Producer Frank Moher, "employing central Vancouver Island artists and giving local audiences more opportunities to enjoy their work." The company will announce its 2008-09 slate of plays in August.
