Ambulance Employees Want 30% Increase
CUPE wants their members working in the ambulance service field to get a 30% wage increase this March to give them parity with Vancouver police and firefighters. They hope to gain public support for their demands and will probably take a strike vote in the next two weeks.
Editor's Comment: It is time that members of the public service woke up to the current economic reality and consider themselves fortunate to have a job. Do you think it would be hard to fill these $35/hr jobs if you offered free training to unemployed forest workers?
