Popular Program 'Flush' With Cash Again
The City of Nanaimo will be commencing the Toilet Replacement Rebate Program, starting after Dec. 31, 2010.. Operating on a first-come, first-served basis while funds are available, the rebate program entitles property owners within the City of Nanaimo's jurisdiction who are connected to our Sewer and/or Water systems to a cash rebate for up to two 13-litre (or greater) toilets that are replaced with low-flow toilets. Under the program, registered City of Nanaimo property owners can claim a $50 rebate on the purchase and installation of 6-litre low-flow toilets, or $75 on the purchase and installation of dual-flush (3-litre/6- litre) toilets. This is an opportunity to significantly reduce both water consumption and the sewage stream by retrofitting older toilets with modern ultra-low-flow models.
