Virus Still Shuts Down City Computers

Virus Still Has Upper Hand

As of 9:30 this morning there is still no estimate of how much longer it may take IT staff to get the better of the new 'Super' Virus which struck the network sometime on Wednesday afternoon.
Of course will the total reliance on the computer network for storing and retrieving data it is presumed most of the city business is simply at a standstill until such time as this problem is resolved. There is no official announcement as to how the virus entered the network nor what steps are being taken to remove it.

I have searched the net to see if this new Super Virus has struck any place else and have found nothing dealing with a virus as current as this one is. It's surprising that the City of Nanaimo would be dealing with this virus in isolation as these things usually spread like wildfire.

I heard the virus refereed to as the Zero Day virus, which basically just means a virus that has never been seen before, so perhaps the city of Nanaimo is the testing ground for this new bug. I wonder if the Internet security company the city deals with guarantees any of their work? Could be the subject of the next 'core review' at city hall.

Ever wonder what would happen in our modern age, if the computer systems we have become so reliant on, were to suddenly become useless? Does anyone even remember what a ledger sheet looks like? How to actually add numbers in your head? Or even write legibly?
