Single detached housing starts in Nanaimo were up in June with 26 in 2015 and 30 in 2016 while multi-family units decreasing from 64 in 2015 to 24 in 2016 resulting in a combined total of 54 units in 2016 as opposed to 90 units in 2015.
Year-to-date single family totals are unchanged with 199 units in 2015 and 2016. Multi-family dwellings decreased from 298 units in 2015 to 174 units in 2016. Combined totals for 2015 were 497 compared with 373 for 2016.
