Nine year old has bike stolen
in broad daylight at NAC
The
Nanaimo RCMP is investigating the theft of a bicycle from a 9 year old which
occurred on Saturday March 25, 2017 at approximately 5 pm, outside the Nanaimo
Aquatic Centre (NAC).
The
victim told investigators he and his brother were standing outside the NAC
located at the intersection of 3rd St and Wakesiah Ave when a male
approached. This person asked the two what time it was then said "time
to steal your bike". He then threatened to punch the youth before
forcibly taking his bike. The male was last seen riding off east bound along 3rd
St on the bike described as a grey Devinci Jackson. Patrols of
the area proved negative in locating the suspect male.
Video
surveillance of the male has been obtained. The suspect is described as a white,
approximately 25-35 years of age, 5 ft. 6 with a thin build and short blond
hair. He was wearing a black jacket, light coloured blue jeans and beige
Timberland boots. He also wore sunglasses with white rims.
