Nanaimo Traffic Fine Revenue
It is reported in the local press that Nanaimo will receive $1.2 million in traffic fine revenue.
The funds are coming from the Provincial government and are the result of ticket fines and court imposed fines on violations.
The City of Nanaimo spends $18.4 million annually on policing costs and Mayor Korpan said the funds from the traffic fine revenues will be used to offset policing and prevention costs.
Comment: The next time you see someone pulled over, getting a ticket, give them a big wave and thank you for helping keep your taxes down.
