A few weeks ago I happened to see this momma coon moving her kids through our backyard. She used the base of this tree to deposit them ( I presume a halfway point in her journey ) and one by one would pick them by the scruff of the neck and move them to their new digs.
We figure for a few weeks they were holed up in the empty culvert across the street from our place which was nice and dry until we got some rain recently. I am guessing that this time she was moving them back to where they had been before, and once again this tree was the midway point. She would come back and move them along one at a time again,
This picture only shows two of the three kids she has to take care of this year. Means I really have to remember to cover my fish bowl, or sushi will be on the coon menu.
