Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected by Thursday morning. This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

Details
A low pressure system approaching the south coast will spread a mixture of wet snow and rain to East Vancouver Island this morning. However, snow can be expected over higher terrain and northern sections of the region due to slightly lower temperatures. Local snowfall accumulations for these areas will range from 5 to 10 centimetres. Precipitation will continue this evening before tapering off Thursday morning as the system moves further inland.
