BC Ferries Self-Ticketing At Departure Bay and Duke Point

Self-Ticketing Now Available At
Both Nanaimo BC Ferries Terminals

VICTORIA – For the added convenience of foot passengers, BC Ferries has just opened new
self-ticketing kiosks at both Departure Bay and Duke Point terminals.

The self-ticketing system is designed to simplify ticket purchases and speed up the foot
passenger process. Similar to a movie theatre, customers now have the option of using a selfticketing machine or purchasing a ticket from a ticket agent.

“We’ve had self-ticketing at our Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay terminals for some time
now, which has proved to be extremely popular with customers particularly at peak times,” said Corrine Storey, BC Ferries’ VP of Terminal Operations. “The self-ticketing technology available is another tool BC Ferries can use as we continually strive to improve our overall customer service.”

Customers using the machines are able to pay with credit cards, debit cards and the BC Ferries’ Experience Card. The self-ticketing kiosks will provide receipts and boarding passes. Customers will also be able to check the balance and reload additional funds on their BC Ferries’ Experience Card at the machines.
