Courtesy of Novedades de Quintana Roo
It is reported on the CBC and elsewhere that Mexican authorities have charged five employees and contractors at the hotel in Playa del Carmen where five Canadian tourists were killed in the Nov. 14 blast.

Nanaimo local Mr.Malcolm Johnson was one of the victims in that explosion. It is reported that an unauthorized gas line extension under the hotel lounge found by investigators is the cause as it was not properly installed or maintained.

The charges against the five include homicide, causing injuries to professional or technical misconduct. The charges have now been laid and arrest warrants requested for the five suspects.
