Wal-Mart To Invest $500 Million In Canada

Wal-Mart Investing $500 Million Creating 7500 Jobs

An article in today's Globe and Mail reports Wal-Mart will be investing $500 million to increase it's Canadian presence this year. In the process they will creat 7500 jobs and complete 35 super centre projects and add one million square feet of retail.

This will brings Wal-Mart's Canadian store count to 395 by January 2015 which included 282 super centres.

The expansion is seen as a threat to Loblaw Cos Ltd, the country's biggest grocer and Empire Co Ltd's Sobeys grocery chain.
