Enormous Potential

Exists In B.C.

Building British Columbia’s economic strength to create jobs, stability and confidence for families and capitalize on the opportunities of the new world economy was the focus of the speech from the throne that launched the fifth session of the 38th parliament today.

“British Columbia’s new economy must focus on smarter government, leveraged investment, and constructive change founded on new partnerships,” said Premier Gordon Campbell. “We are experiencing a seismic shift not just in British Columbia, but around the world. That shift calls for us to take steps to build our economy both in the short term, and for the future.

“British Columbia has enormous potential in clean, low-carbon energy, mining, forestry, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, tourism, trade and transportation. We will take steps to seize those opportunities to build a better, stronger future for all British Columbians.”To read the full report use this Nanaimo Info LINK.
