Old Nanaimo Pictures


Nanaimo circa 1911

A gentleman from Somerset sent me these two pictures of Nanaimo from about 1911. They belonged to his grandfather who was working in the mines in Nanaimo in those days.

Is there anyone who can identify the location of either of these photo's based on landmarks?

    sure can, the bottom picture is the corner 0f commercial street and wharf street, and those people are there, waiting, for the bar to open
