Vancouver Island is not expected to see anything of any significance as a result of this poweful earthquake, with Tofino reporting a light rise in sea level, but nothing to report. Apparently our neighbours to the south in Oregon took the warning more seriously with some evacuation measures taken.

8.8 Earthquake Rocks Japan Tsunami Warning Issued
Vancouver Island is not expected to see anything of any significance as a result of this poweful earthquake, with Tofino reporting a light rise in sea level, but nothing to report. Apparently our neighbours to the south in Oregon took the warning more seriously with some evacuation measures taken.
