City Of Nanaimo Awards 75 Rebates of $250
To qualify you must have an existing wood burning appliance (or open hearth fireplace) that does not conform to CSA B4515.1 standards (typically an appliance built and installed before 1994). You must also be replacing your appliance no earlier than Feb. 21, 2011 to participate.
I understand that the City of Nanaimo received $21,214.00 in provincial funding for the 2011 program. The program first began in March 2009, and apparently, the City has changed out 157 stoves.
ReplyDeleteI also understand that the funds will be primarily spent on providing $250 rebates for 70 woodstove change-outs, and coordinated with the local retailers between February and May of 2011.
Apparently, the remaining funds will be used for public education events, which will be coordinated through the Nanaimo Recycling Exchange ($5,800.00) and for two "Burn it Smart" workshops, plus paid advertisement ($3,571.00) which the City will organize.
As for me, I’m still waiting to receive a share for all my efforts!!
