Empty Nesters: what to do now that the children are raised and gone? Meet with other women in the same situation with the Empty Nesters, who meet every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the MGM Restaurant. Fundraiser: the Canadian Mental Health Assoc. is hosting a 'wine, women and chocolate' fundraiser on Thursday May 5 from 6 - 9 pm at the Curling Club at 106 Wall Street. Tickets cost $20 and are available at 125 Haliburton Street or call 250-244-4042 ext 151.

Pottery Sale: The Nanaimo Pottery and Exhibition sale takes place this Friday, May 6 at Country Club Centre. It's a great place to find unique hand-crafted gifts for Mother's Day. It is also a chance to meet new potters who have joined the cooperative.

Giant: Plant and Book sale takes place at St. Paul's Anglican Church this Friday, May 6 at 7:00 pm in the church at 29 Church St.

Rhodo sale: the Nanaimo Rhododendron Society is hosting a plant and flower sale in the Centennial Building at Beban Park this Saturday, May 7 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. For more information call 250-390-3605.
