Nanaimo Rental Vacancy Rate 5.3% April 2014

 Nanaimo Vacancy Rates Decrease
April 2014 - 2013
8.3% - 5.3%

The following information is taken from the CMHC Rental Market Report released in the Spring of 2014.The vacancy rate for Nanaimo for the month of April 2014 is 5.3% coming down 3% from the same month in 2013 when the vacancy rate was 8.3%.

The average rent for a 2 bedroom apartment in Nanaimo has edged up slightly from $791 in 2013 to $805 in 2014.

According to this CMHC Rental Market Report the vacancy rate for the province was 2.7% which has dropped from last year at 3.5%. This would mean Nanaimo's vacancy rate is still considerably higher than the provincial average, which usually bodes well for tenants as landlords compete. The other favourable statistic for Nanaimo is our average two bedroom rental rate at $805 which is well below the provincial average of $1090.
