NANAIMO CANNON FIRING DAILY AT NOON

If you have not witnessed the cannon firing ceremony, you are missing out. Each day at noon of the clock as the sounds of the bagpipes drift off, the cannon which once guarded our Port City of Nanaimo, is ceremoniously fired. Of course the cannon ball is missing, but other than that it is authentic. If you have guests from out of town, or if you've never witnessed the firing, stop down, before noon of course. And be sure to turn down your hearing aid!
It gives you an appreciation for what men of old would have endured under real wartime conditions. Especially, if you have to fire one, in the confines of the Bastion!
Haven't seen it? Do yourself a favour and check it out. While you are there stop by the Bastion for a visit.
Don't forget the Farmer's Market on Fridays from 10:00am - 2:00pm.
