IT'S OFFICIAL DOWNTOWN FERRY IS SOLD!

The Sealink Ferry which has been idle for over a year now, has been sold and will not be used for downtown Nanaimo to downtown Vancouver service.
Apparently the owner is looking into the possiblity of employing more fuel efficient vessles on the run, but at this point it is only in the speculative stage.
So, downtown ferry service does not look like a reality in the immediate future, unless someone with verrrrry deep pockets takes an interest in the venture.
It would seem there simply is not the demand, to make this a viable business venture at this time.
Sounds like a perfect project for a government agency to take on. How about BC Ferries?
It must be time for someone to dust off the old 'bridge to the mainland' idea.
